Cyprus is one of the very few holiday destinations that really does have something for everyone. Cyprus is steeped in history and due to the fact that it is located to the north of Egypt, north west of Israel and to the east of Greece, it is one of those islands that is literally awash with archaeological sites, historic sites and culture that is simply 'in the blood' of the local people. After all, this is the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty.

Cyprus is also the 3rd largest island within the Mediterranean, which means plenty of things to see and do, with lots of space to escape the crowds, or you can get down with the crowds if that is your scene. The large number of tourists means that language is not usually a problem and most of the larger towns and leisure attractions have English speakers and information provided in English, so you don't have to worry about communication. Since Cyprus joined the Eurozone, the Euro is now the standard currency and the prices are quite favourable for food, beverages and leisure activities; certainly far cheaper than the UK.

Cyprus also offers a warm welcome and that is perhaps why it is so often called the 'Jewel of the Mediterranean'. The people genuinely love to welcome visitors to their island and they are immensely proud of Cyprus and all that it has to offer. In these days of living in a global village with the same global companies and global experiences, it is wonderful to be able to get away and enjoy a unique island, with a people who are warm and welcoming and sunshine combined with Mediterranean food.
